With so many festivals happening at the moment than thinking of what to wear may be on your mind. From Latitude to Camp Bestival, to Boardmasters, to Glastonbury and the Great British Food Festival, there are festivals out there for everyone. 

So whether you are someone who loves a rave or someone who prefers a family festival here are some ideas for festival fashion and what to wear from 2022 and beyond.

Denim Shorts

Denim shorts are always a good look for a festival. Considering most of the festivals are in the summer, shorts keep you cool and casual looking. Go for denim with some stretch for comfort, and you can stuff your face with the festival food, Obviously don't forget to pack the sunscreen, you don't want to get your knees burnt. 

Classic T-shirt

The classic t-shirt is always a festival staple. You can dress a t-shirt up with some jewellery or just wear it without for the look that never dates. Bring along a jacket too if you are staying overnight. A biker jacket or a cowboy jacket with tassels is on trend at the moment. 

Cowboy boots

Festivals can be a muddy affair, often held in big fields, so what's more practical than a pair of cowboy boots? Even Vogue thinks cowboy boots will be at every festival and park this year, they suggest teaming with maxi skirts and jackets or tops with fringing, to go full-on cowboy.

Co ord outfit

So you've got the denim shorts and classic t-shirt for the day but at night the dance music goes up a notch. Alternatively, you are going to a dance festival and want an eye-catching look. So get women's co ords you can wear day or night to stand out in the crowd. A co-ord or two-piece matching set, in some figure-hugging material, will ensure you will get noticed at any dance party or rave

Crochet dress

If you want to go for a bohemian look with a flashback to the 60s, then embrace the crochet trend that's now all the rage again. Crochet dresses are super cute and airy and can be worn over cycle shorts and crop tops to protect your modesty, depending on how revealing they are.

Bucket hat

To protect you from the British sun, which we've had a lot of this year for once, then don't forget a hat and sunscreen. A good old bucket hat can do the job, a floppy hat for a girly look or a Stetson to go with the cowboy look. Pair them with a pair of chic sunglasses, a friendship bracelet, and a raffia tote and you are good to go. 

Funky jacket

The last item on my list is a funky jacket. Whether you are wearing a fringed jacket or going Barbour cool, then check out vintage or charity shops if you don't have a suitable one in your wardrobe.  Jackets can be really pricey and it can be an absolute steal if you find one second-hand. Other places to try include e-Bay and my favourite - the Vinted website or app.

In your lounge or bedroom think about getting a neon sign that's personal to you, you can get some great custom signs that can make your home look special. If you are looking for a feature wall for your bedroom, find some really cool wallpaper you like, several companies do interesting wallpaper so let your mind run wild with jungle prints, tropical vistas or even a city skyline.

Get a stand-out light feature

An unusual or stand-out light feature can be that interesting item you need to personalise your home. From unusual outdoor lighting to make the garden perfect for twilight parties, to a chandelier for your dining room if you like a grandeur style. From super modern futuristic designs to over-the-top pendants and chandeliers there are light features for every person's style.

Benelux is an area of western Europe that covers Belgium, Luxembourg and The Netherlands. It's also known as the Low Countries as they are on a plain near the North Sea. These countries have several things in common including their landform and climate.

Getting to this area from the UK you would fly to one of the cities in Belgium, The Netherlands or Luxembourg, take a ferry for example to Zebbruge or Amsterdam, or take the train. Personally, I would take the London to Amsterdam train if you are starting your trip in the Netherlands or take the Eurostar direct to Belgium if you are starting your journey there. There is so much to see in these three countries so here is an overview and brief guide to some of the best sights in Belgium, The Netherlands and Luxembourg.

The Netherlands

The Netherlands is a country known for a flat landscape of canals, tulip fields, windmills and cycling routes. The biggest cities are Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague, Utrecht and Eindhoven.

Luxembourg

Luxembourg is one of the world's smallest countries and is famous for being the second richest country in the world. The biggest cities and towns are Luxembourg City, Esch-Sur-Alzette, Dudelange, Schifflange, and Bettembourg,

Luxembourg City is one place I've wanted to visit for a long time. The capital city has a historic centre which is UNESCO preserved. Perfectly walkable take in the sights such as the Wenceslas ring wall, and a view of the Alzette valley. At certain times of the year, you can do a guided tour of the underground tunnels. Get around with the free public transport (yes you heard that correctly!). 

Esch-Sur-Alzette, the second largest area by population is relatively small with a population of just over 28,000. It has the National Museum of the Resistance and the Escher Tier Park which is a great park for children with deer, goats and rabbits. 

So here is a brief guide to what to see and do while travelling around Benelux. If you are thinking of doing this I recommend getting a map, planning a route to take in the major sites and just enjoying the experience! Have fun.

How Many National Parks Does Portugal Have?

Parque Nacional da Peneda-Gerês

In the very north-east of the country, the Serra da Peneda and Serra do Gerês combine to make the only official national park in Portugal. It is over 695 square KM in size and its two highest peaks are Serra Amarela and the Serra do Soajo. The valleys in this national park have lots of lush green land, streams and forests of pine and oak. Parque Natural do Alvão

Parque Natural do Alvão is a protected area in the Tâmega and Douro Subregions of northern Portugal. This park is the smallest of all the natural parks in Portugal. The area is mountainous and is approximately 72 sq KMs in size. Trees in this area include oak, hazel, holly and chestnut. Animals that populate the area include wild boars, roe deer, rabbits and hares and reptiles include the Iberian emerald lizard and the Latastei viper. It is also home to Fisgas de Ermelo, one of several waterfalls in the park

Parque Natural do Litoral Norte 

Parque Natural do Litoral Norte is located in the northern area of Portugal on the coast. This park was created to preserve the sand dunes and wildlife of the area. It has over 140 species of birds in this area and other animals include hedgehogs, squirrels and boars as well as lizards and snakes. It is an area of intense agricultural activity too. 

Parque Natural da Serra da Estrela

The Parque Natural da Serra da Estrela is situated in the largest mountain range in Portugal and also has the highest peak in Mainland Portugal, making it a popular destination for skiing in winter. It is over 100 KM2 in size and is home to the wall lizard otters, badgers, and wild cats as well as large flocks of sheep. The flora of the area includes black oak, juniper and the gentian, a plant in danger of extinction.

Parque Natural de Sintra Cascais

Parque Natural de Sintra Cascais is a natural park of 145 km2. Being close to Lisbon, it is a popular area and has many points of historical interest. This area is very rich in flora and fauna and animals found here include badgers, wild rabbits, weasels, kestrels and the Peregrine falcon. There are many beaches on the edge of the park and a visit to UNESCO Sintra and the Pena Palace, one of the most beautiful municipals in Portugal is worth visiting.
