Win My Look For A City Break With Kaleidoscope

*First round is now closed*

if you know me, you will know I love to travel. There are so many beautiful cities in the world and so many interesting sights to see. This Winter I am looking to go to the Christmas markets in Europe, somewhere like Prague or Berlin.

So when Kaleidoscope asked me to run a competition in conjunction with them to win a City break look I thought it was perfect for me and my readers.

Kaleidoscope is aimed at ladies 30 plus with a keen eye on fashion and stylish wardrobe staples. "Designed to be different” you will find the distinctive detail that makes Kaleidoscope stand out from anything you will find on the high street – for all the right reasons. Kaleidoscope stand out in other ways too, with hassle free ordering, fast delivery, flexible payment options and convenient courier returns at a time to suit you. They are on social media too you can contact them on Facebook or Twitter for all your customer service needs.

So as I browsed the website I got all excited about what lovely clothes I could pick for my City Break look. My chosen items are below.

Firstly I picked this beautiful Peached blue jacket with military style buttons. I adore this jacket as it's a gorgeous colour and the military styling is bang on trend.

Then I chose this Linea Tesini top in a soft jersey material. This feminine pretty top softly drapes and is flattering to most shapes.

The medium Bow Bag is a great size for shopping and the Heine scarf adds a contrasting colour and will help keep the cold out.

So tell me - what item would you add to complete my city break look? A great pair of jeans or leggings? Some soft leather boots or pretty pumps? A pair of stylish sunglasses or some useful leather gloves? You can chose anything you like and you do not have to be confined to my suggestions.

To enter post a link to the item below and explain why you chose this item. The item must be less than £60. Also please leave a way I can contact you. I will be looking for the best item to fit with the theme and also the best reason why you have chosen it.

I will pick 4 people to go through to the next round. At the end of that round one winner will win all the items in the completed look.

If you would like to follow me on Facebook  and Twitter for all the latest fashion posts and competitions, please do so!

  Good luck!

First Round Is Now Closed No More Entries please

  1. I would choose a gogeous pair of denim blue Heine Skinny Jeans. http://www.kaleidoscope.co.uk/products/heine-skinny-jeans/_/A-017406_8S They would finish this outfit perfectly to create a slim silhouette and would also be a wardrobe staple that would go with so many other pieces this Autumn. 3. What a fabulous competition - and I love what you have chosen so far! In particular the military coat :) I have chosen these gorgeous Joe Browns Zip Detail Riding Boot http://www.kaleidoscope.co.uk/products/joe-browns-zip-detail-riding-boots/_/A-10R730_5 retailing at £55. I've always thought that blue and brown go together well. Not only are these boots flat which will be easy on your feet with all the site-seeing you are bound to do but they are very stylish, will keep your legs warm if it is cold and the brown picks out the bow in the bag you have chosen. As well as all that, they are versatile enough to be worn with trousers, leggings or skinny jeans. My email is vickywelton@hotmail.com and I am on Twitter as @vicwelton

  4. I'd choose these stylish print trousers http://www.kaleidoscope.co.uk/products/class-international-fx-print-trousers/_/A-002448_18 , prints are bang on trend, the colours are very versatile and they could be dressed up or down . I like to travel lightly and think they would be suitable for sightseeing, a smart lunch or early drinks .

  5. I see you've not chosen any jewellery yet! And that top is crying out for a chunky looking necklace to set it off, so I've chosen this disc necklace http://www.kaleidoscope.co.uk/products/disc-necklace/_/A-68H147_ which would set it off perfectly.

    ReplyDelete
  6. I would choose this Faux Fur Hat http://www.kaleidoscope.co.uk/products/faux-fur-hat-amp-stole-set/_/A-90K037_ Would be perfect for keeping you snug on a city break at this time of year :)

  8. I would choose the Moda in Pelle Long Leather Boots. All good military styles need leather boots to shout top to toe trendy, low heeled for comfort but have a sneaky 'look at my boots' factor. They are smart enough for those treks around all those shops.Yet look kick ass when you stop for a latte! http://www.kaleidoscope.co.uk/products/moda-in-pelle-long-leather-boots/_/A-91E775_37

  10. I would add this jewellery set: http://www.kaleidoscope.co.uk/products/square-necklace-amp-earring-set/_/A-83H172_

While wearing the scarf the earrings would add extra colour and interest to the outfit (as well as picking up the grey from the scarf) and once the coat and scarf are off the set would look great with the tunic top.

  11. Great Giveaway! I'd pick Joe Browns studded suede boots here:
    http://www.kaleidoscope.co.uk/products/joe-browns-studded-suede-boot/_/A-10K243_8

The reason I'd pick those is because they would go with navy beautifully and the bag has a tan coloured bow which would go with the colour of the boots. As soon as I looked at the outfit I felt it needed brown boots to finish it off.

  19. Oh I love this competition!! I was just looking to see if you had a new post and spotted this!

I loved the choices you have made! Very classy and easily adjusted for night or day!

I spent quite a while browsing through the site and have to say they have some absolutely beautiful items on offer! Bookmarked ready for my next splurge.

I decided on these truly fabulous Polka Dot Trousers! I think they are the perfect way to finish off this outfit.
    http://www.kaleidoscope.co.uk/products/heine-polka-dot-trousers/_/A-033927_20
The polka dots will add the right amount of detail to the outfit, just enough to be noticed, but not too overwhelming when partnered with the items you have chosen. Navy is such a wonderfully sophisticated colour that it seemed only right that your picks be joined by something equally elegant. Not only is Navy a really on trend colour, but dots are everywhere and a personal favourite of mine.

Thanks for a great competition and the chance to win such amazing clothes!

    Good luck everyone!

I could wear this over my coat as in the pic or in the evening pinned with a sparkly brooch. Turbanwise it's a hat! Whilst browsing the site I came across this cute little purse! (can be contacted through my Twitter - FayeHHuntington) - I would choose the gorgeous Lunar Patent-Mix Boots (http://www.kaleidoscope.co.uk/products/lunar-patent-mix-boots/_/A-89H159_4) to go with the outfit. My reasoning for choosing these boots are because when you're on a short city break, your time is limited and so you aim to do/see as much as possible in the time available to you.. which means a LOT of walking! These flat, comfortable and yet stylish boots enable you to look good whilst walking for hours on end. The design of the boots runs true to the chic, urban feel to the original chosen outfit and continues that trend with ease! With love, Faye xx

  51. I would choose these tan brogues http://www.kaleidoscope.co.uk/products/ravel-lace-up-leather-brogues/_/A-11T133_3 as not only are they stylish, on-trend with the androgynous look, and comfortable enough to walk around taking in the sights, but they also go perfectly with the tan bow feature on the bag. I think they compliment the look perfectly as they are casual enough for daywear, whilst still looking chic.

  52. To complete your look, I know it's not clothing related but I thought since you have a love for travel and do it regularly I have picked the antler liquis luggage. Not only is it lightweight but also stylish! For those city breaks the 4 wheeler cabin rollercase would be ideal. Plus it can be used time and time again. I'm sure this hard-cased shell would also outstand the winter weather, battling through the slush and snow if need be.With the blue toned clothes you have picked the vibrant blue of these suitcases would add that final touch as you arrive at your destination.

  77. I would pick these slingbacks http://www.kaleidoscope.co.uk/products/clarks-wide-fit-leather-slingback-shoes/_/A-11D657_6 they are stylish and have a low heel for ultimate comfort on your city break, they add a bit of sexyness to the whole outfit

  78. I'd choose a pair of slim leg jeans (£35) - http://www.kaleidoscope.co.uk/products/slim-leg-jeans/_/A-79S921_20

They'll team perfectly with the jacket to complete your fitted look, as well as providing comfort during a day of wandering round a city! It's also pretty handy to have a few pockets in which to keep your valuables :)

  82. I would choose a pair of these jeans http://www.kaleidoscope.co.uk/products/joe-browns-ultimate-lift-and-shape-jeans/_/A-12X779_14R as they would help keep my wobbly bits in check and give me a nicer silhouette. Jeans are so versatile as they can be glammed up with heels , some jewellery and a smart jacket , worn casually and are so comfy for travelling in . This jeans compare very well on price and with the added lift and shape would be the perfect addition to your selection

  83. I'd choose the Joe Browns Remarkable Tunic http://www.kaleidoscope.co.uk/products/joe-browns-remarkable-printed-tunic/_/A-11T495_10 - because it could be worn over leggings during the day and then jazzed up with heels and some bling for dinner and drinks in the evening. The less you have to carry in your luggage, the more room you have to bring back things you find on your shopping trips!

  84. I would choose the Buckle Wedged Ankle Boots (http://www.kaleidoscope.co.uk/products/buckle-detailed-wedged-ankle-boots/_/A-54G612_6) to go with the outfit above as they are on trend and low heeled - perfect for galavanting around the city (all too many times I've crippled myself with heels), they would also go with jeans, leggings and jeggings so are very versatile!

I'd choose these slim leg trousers mainly because they are in stretch cotton so will give more comfort for travelling but would look really stylish as well and fit in with the outfit as a whole.

  96. I would add these flat buckle boots in burgundy with a pair of skinny jeans. http://www.kaleidoscope.co.uk/products/flat-buckle-detailed-boots/_/A-47S650_6
They would add a pop of colour and really turn heads, and they look comfortable and warm for a winter city break.

    1. Realised I went slightly over budget even though the boots were gorgeous. I would go for these wellies http://www.kaleidoscope.co.uk/products/redfoot-folding-wellies/_/A-90T501_7 Especially if it's a city break in Europe then you will need these and they fold away, which is ultra practical.

  97. I would choose these faux suede zip detailed ankle boots http://www.kaleidoscope.co.uk/products/faux-suede-zip-detailed-ankle-boots/_/A-47K961_5
These would add a dash of bright colour and are a nice comfortable height for walking around all those city sights and shops. Also they remind me of a pair of shoes and a bag I had in this colour with a matching coat and beret a very long time ago when electric blue was the height of fashion! I think they would be more stylish as the only touch of this colour with this outfit!

I have chosen the Together Straight Leg Trousers http://www.kaleidoscope.co.uk/products/together-straight-leg-trousers/_/A-54W397_14 Mainly because you have lots of lovely top half items for your look so it needed something on the bottom but also because I feel that the colour and style would complement the gorgeous items already in the City Look. @auroradreaming

I think they bring the outfit together but keeps it comfortable whist looking chic. They of course can be worn time and time again with them being black and will match many other outfits.
I do think they would be comfortable for travel and for the day ahead. I love the coat and I think the leggings would look great with it. @misshullatalula /Facebook Jade Missy Evans.

    http://www.kaleidoscope.co.uk/products/skechers-casual-shoes/_/A-12H360_5
I've chosen the Skechers Casual Shoes because they are fashionable yet practical. When you are on a city break dashing around snapping photos of every interesting sight you lay eyes on, the last thing you want is painful blisters on your feet. Call me a realist, but it's no good looking like the next Carrie Bradshaw wearing the latest Choos, if it means you might trip over a cobbled stone in front of a suave Italian cafe! These shoes might be made for walking, but there's no reason you can't strut your stuff!

  104. I really like the outfit you have picked, I too love low cut v-next & wrap tops, its nice to show-off what mother nature gave me. I have chosen this matching 2 piece necklace & bracelet set. Its pretty and sparkling and bargain for only £35. Not only could I wear it with this outfit for extra glam points but I tend to wear plenty or blues, blacks and denim, it would definitely give me a tinkle effect, I just need lots of mascara & lip gloss now!

  105. A city break is a chance to step out of routine and enjoy a touch of luxury somewhere new and exciting, so the outfit should combine comfort and just a little glamour. I have chosen these gorgeous shoe boots, in a rich burgundy colour to compliment this lovely outfit. The ruched detailing at the front reflects the soft draped style in the Tesini top and the covered buttons further accentuate the smart military style of the jacket. I liked the burgundy, because it adds a splash of colour, without being too bright or garish, maintaining the understated sophistication of this classic city look. The slight heel is flattering and trendy, but is still comfortable enough to withstand some serious retail therapy! http://www.kaleidoscope.co.uk/products/lotus-shoe-boots/_/A-51E033_4

  108. I love what you have chosen and to complete the look I have gone for a pair of flared Blue wash jeans, as a girl of ....How should I say? Vertically challenged? Flares are ALWAYS the best bet for me as I have long legs and a short waist, so they work for my figure but Avoid cuffs, pleats, bell-bottoms, high-rises, and pockets with flaps or embellishment on areas you prefer to de-emphasize. Also avoid rolling up jeans at the hem if you want a longer, leaner look!
You could pair these up with a nice pair of heels or for comfort a great pair of cowboy boots!
