Acne Treatments and SK:Nclinic

Have you ever worried about your skin? When I was younger I had spotty teenage skin, it troubled me at the time but as I got older it improved with age. I did get some chicken pox scarring though and you can still see it if you look close enough. Skin conditions are so intrinsically linked to self-esteem it can really knock your self-confidence if you get a problem with it.

You can get acne at any age, in fact, it disregards your age. Acne can be teenage acne or mature acne. Acne normally appears during puberty and decreases over time, but this is not always the case. Sometimes it can carry on into adulthood, which can be a cause of great distress. Many adults are also left with acne scars even if over time the scars can fade, this can still be distressing.

Teenage Acne

During puberty, there is increased oil production. This, in turn, can clog pores and cause a reaction. Acne can also be worsened by the increased production of testosterone.

Adult Acne

Adult acne is caused by excess oil production which clogs the pores and causes a reaction in the skin. It can also be caused by an increase in testosterone.

Sometimes over the counter remedies can help but if the damage has been done to your skin how do you improve the appearance?

If you want to feel better about the way your skin looks, sk:n clinics have helped over half a million clients to healthier, smoother looking skin. 1. I consider myself very lucky to never have had acne - I had the odd spot when I was a teenager (and still do, sadly), but nothing compared to what some people had to endure! I also used to get eczema, but that was when I was very small.

It's good to know there are lots of options out there for people with skin conditions!

  2. I had a little in my teenage years, I seemed t have outbreaks more around my period and at times it did effect my self-esteem but a lot of teenagers have to go through this, my main tips is drink lots of water, eat a low sugar diet and use good quality natural products :)

  3. Well I was lucky never to suffer with awful acne but am prone to outbreaks. I just keep a good skin care routine and make sure I take my make up off at night.

    1. Good advice I think a lot of problems are hormone related but good skincare certainly helps.
