What To Consider When Remodelling A Kitchen

Having a new kitchen installed can make a big difference to your home, however, having a new kitchen installed can be a costly experience.   So if you are thinking of a new kitchen why not have your kitchen renovated and remodelled instead at a fraction of the price? If you are looking to have your kitchen remodelled and renovated let's have a look at what you need to take into consideration so you can avoid making any mistakes.

Upcycle kitchen cabinets

Rather than buy new kitchen cabinets consider upcycling the ones you have. You can easily do this by replacing the doors for the cabinets only. This is easily achieved thanks to manufacturers such as Lovech, as they can make doors that fit and match your existing cabinets precisely. Another alternative is to repaint the doors if they are wood. Just remove the doors, sand down, prime and repaint in a new colour. You will be surprised by the difference it can make.

Illuminate the way

Lighting can make a big difference to a kitchen, especially if you spend a lot of time cooking. Downlighting and spotlighting can really illuminate the areas making it easier to see when preparing and cooking food, as well as adding a modern look.  So invest in some lighting to bring your kitchen into 2020.

Buy new appliances

If you have had the same appliances for ages, consider replacing them. This will quickly revamp the kitchen if you have the money. It's easier to replace freestanding appliances but it's also worth looking into the cost of fitted units too. A retro new fridge freezer or sleek modern cooker can really alter the look of your kitchen.

Replace the floor

If your floor isn't up to scratch then look into replacing it. Vinyl floors are relatively cheap to replace and easy to keep clean, whilst hardwood flooring and ceramic tiles are hardwearing and keep their look for longer. Check your budget and see what you can afford to revamp your floor.

Develop storage

You may have cluttered cupboards and a lack of storage so think about developing your storage solutions. Firstly declutter what you have, bin anything that isn't useful or attractive in your kitchen or donate to charity. Then consider getting new storage. Maybe a free-standing kitchen table with drawers will be a useful addition or put up extra shelves and hanging rails to make use of every inch of space.

Add some accessories

Accessories can make a kitchen look different for relatively little cost. Some new kitchen canisters, smart new tea towels, a new chopping board and some wall art can make all the difference. Think of a theme and follow it through with your accessories to make it look seamless.

Paint the walls

Of course, one of the simplest things to do to make a kitchen look fresh and new is to paint the walls.  White will make the kitchen feel clean and fresh, yellow will add a sunny and cheerful look and blue will make it feel cool and Mediterranean in vibe.

So here are some ideas for a kitchen renovation that won't break the bank. If you have any ideas yourself or have undergone a kitchen remodel let me know.
