Mounir Jewellery

Sometimes I think I'm a magpie, as I am intrinsically drawn to sparkly things.

The other day I came across a company that I was delighted to find, and one that fulfils my sparkly wants and needs.... Mounir Jewellery.

Mounir jewellery sell beautiful sparkly things, well, to be more specific, stunning silver, 9ct and 18ct gold plated sparkly jewellery, beautifully inlaid with precious gemstones of every colour and specially cut to their high specifications. The precious gems they use including purple amethyst, freshwater pearls and smokey quartz, are chosen for their radiance and brilliance.
Silver Sunflower collection inlaid with blue quartz

Since being formed by Mounir and his wife Corinne in 1989, every piece is designed and handmade in their London Studio. All materials are sourced from fair trade suppliers. There is even a bespoke service for that special piece that is made to your specifications. Perfect for that special birthday, wedding anniversary, or birth of a child.

I particularly love the Sunflower collection. With inspiration being taken from nature's most cheery flower, this stunning collection is just beautiful.

In each piece there is tremendous attention to detail. The texture of the silver and gold plate was designed to enhance the colours of the stones to give it more depth and personality.  The range of stones that are used have a brightness and translucence that is really pretty.

Arm candy bangles in the Sunflower collection
22 ct gold plated silver in lemon quartz, blue quartz, and Amethyst purple quartz

These bangles above are just stunning. The lemon quartz is a perfect stone to imitate the beauty of the sunflower, while the gold plated detail imitates the petals. As a gemstone, the properties of lemon quartz is associated with clarity of mind and good fortune.

The blue quartz they use has an opaque finish. Blue quartz is associated with tranquility and peace and calms the mind. I like this stone as it is very wearable and goes with most outfits.

Out of all the jewellery they sell, I love the purple amethyst bangle. Some people believe amethyst gemstones have healing powers while medieval European soldiers wore amethyst amulets as protection in battle in the belief that amethysts heal people and keep them cool-headed. I just like the colour!

If you are a serious fashionista you may have seen their designs in leading publications such as Vogue, Red, Instyle, and Harpers Bazaar.  If you want to source this pretty brand of jewellery you can buy it in exclusive boutiques such as Diana Porter in Bristol, and Rockman in London, to the Victoria and Albert Museum shop and online from their store.
Green onyx set in 22ct gold plated silver

I was so glad I came across Mounir Jewellery. Their stunning collections are delicate and a little bit different, perfect for those ladies who love girly pretty jewellery.

What is your favourite gemstone? Do you love the Sunflower collection as much as me?
