Weird Fish Taloga Hoodie Review

Weird Fish is a company known for their relaxed weekend wear. From their inception 23 years ago, their mission has been to make well priced well made and distinctive clothes that will make you feel good wearing them.

I have become a fan of the brand over the years, and have bought their t-shirts for my son and previously reviewed a beautiful blue patterned tunic of theirs. Their clothes sum up the surfer look to me, cosy hoodies, bright print t-shirts, light-weight cotton shirts and shorts. Over time I think they have become slightly smarter, with gorgeous printed dresses being added to their repertoire. So when they approached me recently to review an item of clothing I was really pleased. As Weird Fish are known for their hoodies, such as their iconic Macaroni hoodie I thought I would look for a hoodie to review and that would keep me warm on an upcoming trip to Iceland.

So I picked their new Taloga print full zip hoodie.

The Taloga hoodie I chose was the navy hoodie above. I thought it looked super cosy and would go with jeans and leggings and can be thrown over almost anything.

When it arrived I was really pleased with it. It is made of a cotton polyester mix and is machine washable. Perfect if you are lazing on the beach all day. A small note, however, the colour is not really navy, more a grey marl, so just bare that in mind.

The hoodie also has a pre-worn look which is perfect for a casual day on the beach.  The attention to detail is great too, I particularly loved the lining of the hood, it has a super floral print in pink, blue and brown. Other details of note are the Weird Fish logo on the hoodie on the top right and the pink draw cord on the neck to tighten the hood. It also has two cosy pockets and ribbed details on the bottom of the hoodie and the cuffs.

My favourite part of the design is the cosy warm interior. I wore it in Iceland on a recent trip and was so pleased that it kept me warm in the snow. It really feels all snuggly inside.
other colourways include hot pink

The Weird Fish Taloga hoodie also comes in faded jade and hot pink colours and retails at £40. For a quality hoodie like this, the price is good and the quality is spot on, no loose threads on the stitching and the hoodie is finished well.

Gullfoss waterfall, Iceland,
look closely and you will see the hoodie peeking through under the coat

If you are looking for a cosy hoodie I would certain recommend the Weird Fish Taloga. It kept me warm when it was below freezing in Iceland so it's a big thumbs up from me!

Recommended.

  2. There's a Wierd Fish shop in a nearby town, and I've looked in a few times but never bought anything... After this, though, I might have to give it some more thought!
