Getting Older, It Comes To Us All

Recently I have been feeling not as young as I used to feel. Although I go to Zumba I guess I could lose some weight. I have always had dark brown hair and I've noticed one grey hair appearing right at the front. I think I am lucky really, my mum was grey was she was 17.

My skin has always been a little oily, but now I am noticing the odd wrinkle around my eyes. laughter lines I prefer to call them though! I'm happy in my skin in general however when I get older I wouldn't rule out the odd treatment here and there. I think the secret with any treatment is to improve on the original. The craze for having plastic surgery to look like you have no expression is too extreme.

We have many great role models now that embrace their age such as Helen Mirren, Germain Greer and Meryl Streep. These ladies look after themselves but acknowledge their age and experience in life. That's not to say they have or haven't had any treatments, I guess only they would know. But why not? If you feel you need a cosmetic treatment it should be up to you.

It's important to go to a reputable clinic and allow them to guide you in the treatments available. Being a member of the Care Quality Commission shows they meet national standards. Some people go abroad for treatment, just be sure to check the aftercare and the standards of cleanliness. Whether you go for vaser liposuction Ä°stanbul for a body shaping procedure or decide to have other treatment, read about the risks and read the patients reviews to be sure you make an informed decision.

Wrinkle relaxants, laser treatments and laser skin resurfacing all have their place when carried out correctly to high standards. Other treatments like laser hair removal and tattoo removal can give you a new lease of life.

An example of laser skin resurfacing is below. In 2 to 4 treatments improvements are shown in a variety of areas including skin texture, pores, tones, elasticity, and pigment. I think this lady looks refreshed and rejuvenated, what do you think?

It's inevitable getting old, and it comes to us all but would you ever have any treatments? I wouldn't say no, I think it depends on the individual situation. At the moment I'm happy but who knows what the future brings. One thing is for certain I don't want to look like Jacqui Stallone!

  1. I probably wouldn't go for surgery or treatments to look younger. I like my silver hair and while I'm not a fan of my creaking joints and wrinkly bits I think my age makes my face look 'lived in' (hopefully by people who take good care of their home!!!)

  2. Personally no - I wouldn't ever try anything like this. Every line and wrinkle is a memory ;)

  3. I am terribly wary of unnecessary surgical intervention of any sort. I am even wary of make-up most of the time!

  4. I haven't thought about it before. Maybe if something really had gone wrong, like sagging boobs or facial skin then maybe I would. But I am generally scared of surgery so it would have to be really bad for me to go for the knife!

    1. I think you have to take your life as it comes, I wouldn't say no. Something like skin resurfacing could change your life.

  5. Nope, wouldn't have any treatment for wrinkles... I want to grow old gracefully - growing old is a privilege that not everyone gets unfortunately! And I'm always skeptical of before and afters by companies selling a product!

  7. At the moment I would say never, however, I'm only in my early 30's so may change my mind in 10 years time!

  9. Never say never! I wouldn't quite yet though - still a bit ruined from the wonders of natural childbirth and 2 surgeries from a broken wrist :)

  14. I think it's up to each individual whether they want to go for treatments or not and I respect anyone's decision on this. Personally I wouldn't have any cosmetic treatments. I'm happy to look my age and definitely wouldn't have surgery for anything other than for health reasons.

  18. I definitely would never go for surgery, it was traumatic enough watching my mother when she had to go under the knife and have her boob removed, could not do it for cosmetic reasons.

  19. I always said absolutely no way I would have anything cosmetic done when I was younger, but as those lines start to creep in I find myself wondering what if, to a little botox here or there. I'd like to think I will age gracefully but the one thing I know is that I will be getting my teeth straightened this year. they've been bugging me for far too long now. x

  20. She does look different but the light is very different too - would love to actually meet someone before and after, then I may be tempted to consider it!
