Who is your average customer and why do they come to you?

Weird Fish is a company known for their relaxed weekend wear. From their inception 23 years ago, their mission has been to make well priced well made and distinctive clothes that will make you feel good wearing them.

I have become a fan of the brand over the years, and have bought their t-shirts for my son and previously reviewed a beautiful blue patterned tunic of theirs. Their clothes sum up the surfer look to me, cosy hoodies, bright print t-shirts, light-weight cotton shirts and shorts. Over time I think they have become slightly smarter, with gorgeous printed dresses being added to their repertoire. So when they approached me recently to review an item of clothing I was really pleased. As Weird Fish are known for their hoodies, such as their iconic Macaroni hoodie I thought I would look for a hoodie to review and that would keep me warm on an upcoming trip to Iceland.

So I picked their new Taloga print full zip hoodie.

Going Out





Here are some of my favourite going out dresses. From body con dresses to skater and maxi dresses, Quiz has a great range of going out dresses for everyone. The dresses I have picked above are cute and sexy at the same time. The cream lacy dress is truly gorgeous whilst the simple two-part dress with white cami and black skirt on the right is classic and chic. My favourite of these is the middle dress with the black flower waist detail. Although it is a body con dress it is demure too yet still hugs your curves.

If you have a prom or wedding to attend or want a dress for a day at the races, these dresses will 'knock em dead. The Company

Trespass is one of the UK's most successful outdoor clothing companies. Founded in 1938, they initially used to make uniforms for the organisations such as the police. From humble beginnings with only 12 machinists they have grown to over 150 stores now nationwide.

As their product lines expanded they spent time and money developing their own special fabrics and waterproof material, such as Tres-tex - a specially designed waterproof fabric. Today Trespass is known for the excellence in outdoor clothing, combining special advances in fabric technology.

The Review

I was given an opportunity to review a jacket from Trespass so I chose the Bela Women's soft-shell jacket.



I chose this jacket as I liked the streamlined look of the jacket and the black colour way could be worn over most clothing.

The jacket is very comfortable on. The material is flexible and waterproof without the bulk of a bigger jacket which I liked. It also has the added benefit of being made from a breathable and windproof material, suitable for many weather conditions. The high collar had a chin guard so that no cold air can get in and another useful feature is that the hood can be zipped off which aids the jacket's versatility. The sleeves have cuffs that can be adjusted and the jacket has three pockets to keep most of your items dry and warm

They say the Bela women’s softshell jacket is ideal for hiking or biking and I think it is also excellent for outdoor activities such as walking the dog, or even taking the kids to school. 

In fact it's the sort of jacket I wish I had with me when I recently went to San Francisco. San Francisco can be cold and windy even in June and this lightweight jacket would have been perfect to have in my case for my trip, shielding me from the cold, whilst still making me look stylish.

Summer holidays are fast approaching and this is the time of year when I look in my wardrobe and think I haven't got any decent summer clothes. So I have been looking around the perfect holiday clothes, and although I didn't realise, there is a little theme going on here of black and floral. These are the clothes I have on my wishlist.

Weird Fish design relaxed and easy to wear clothes that make you feel like it is the weekend every day. Based in the Cotswolds this company has grown over the last 20 or so years and now have over 11 stores in towns and cities around the UK as well as their online business.

I first bought clothes from the Weird Fish store in Cardiff's Royal Arcade many years ago. I liked their iconic macaroni sweatshirt which was warm and perfect for a day on the beach, and their Weird Fish T shirt which was fun and a great gift for my boyfriend at the time.

Recently I was contacted by the lovely Jenni from JD Williams to ask if I would be interested in reviewing some clothes from their website in a contemporary versus classic campaign. 

Now to be honest I had heard of this company but associated it with older fashion. However what I didn't know is that the clothes are suitable for women of all ages, in sizes 12- 32, and I feel it appeals to those that like high quality classic clothing. Lorraine Kelly is leading their marketing campaign at the moment and she is a perfect ambassador, a lady who is stylish and fun and who loves fashion.

Of course fashion comes around in circles and the 70s jumpsuit, polka dot dresses of the 30s and midi skirt from the 40s are all fashion items of their time that have come back into fashion once again this year.  However I am a firm believer in finding a style that suits you and then accessorising to make the outfit current and on trend. Often that means taking something classic and giving it a twist to bring it contemporary and up to date.

One of the styles that suit my shape is the fit and flare dress. These dresses skim and flatter and give me a more defined waist, so I was really pleased to find a pack of two fit and flare dressed on the JD Williams site for only £26.

Jacamo used to be known as a mens clothes brand that caters for the plus size man, but did you know that's all changed?  Now catering for men from chest size S to 5XL and waist 34 to 54 they now sell clothes to fit most men. Gone is Johnny Vegas as an ambassador, welcome Freddy Flintoff.

The Freddy Flintoff collection  is full of easy to wear casual clothes such as hoodies , jeans and military jackets, to smart blazers, suit jackets and trousers all designed by Freddy.

I was sent the military jacket for my husband to try out, and we were both impressed with the smart yet relaxed jacket and quality of the finish, no unfinished seams here.

Although known for their work wear, T.M. Lewin are not just a company that make stylish office clothes. They make lovely quality clothes for all occasions. This fashion led clothes store also has a sale now on. With 4 men's shirts for £80, 3 women's shirts for £66 and some jackets half price, the sale is certainly worth a look.
