Choosing The Best Swimwear For Your Needs

When it comes to hitting the beach or the pool, choosing the right swimwear is essential for both comfort and style. With an array of options available, finding the perfect swimsuit can be a daunting task. In this guide, I'll explore the best types of swimwear for various needs, ensuring you make a splash in the pool or in the sea

Bikinis For Sun-Kissed Confidence

Bikinis remain a favourite for those looking to showcase their curves. Available in a multitude of styles, including triangle, bandeau, and halter tops paired with various bottoms such as high-waisted, hipster, or string tie, bikinis provide endless possibilities for customisation. If you are looking for a stylish bikini unepiece.com offers a range of bikinis that perfectly blend comfort and style. Their beautiful designs cater to various preferences and body types. Whether you're lounging by the pool or lying on the beach, a well-fitted bikini enhances your natural shape while allowing for optimal sun tanning. Just don't forget the suncream!

Classic One-Piece Swimsuits

For those seeking timeless elegance and modesty, the classic one-piece swimsuit is a versatile choice. This style offers ample coverage and support, making it suitable for women of all body types. Modern one-pieces come in a variety of designs, featuring plunging necklines, cutouts, and high-cut legs, allowing you to express your individual style while enjoying the benefits of a sleek and flattering silhouette.

Athletic Swimwear For Active Adventures

If your beach day involves more than just sunbathing, consider athletic swimwear designed for active pursuits. Sports bras with built-in support, racerback designs, and quick-drying fabrics are perfect for swimming laps, surfing, or engaging in water aerobics. Look for brands that prioritize both style and functionality, ensuring your swimwear can keep up with your active lifestyle.

Tankinis For A Blend Of Coverage And Style

For those who prefer a bit more coverage than a bikini but still want the convenience of a two-piece suit, tankinis are an excellent compromise. This hybrid swimwear typically features a tank-style top paired with bikini bottoms, offering versatility and comfort. Tankinis come in various lengths, allowing you to choose the level of coverage that suits your preference.

Boardshorts And Rash Vests For Water Enthusiasts

For both men and women who love water sports like surfing or paddleboarding, boardshorts and rash vests are essential. Boardshorts provide a comfortable and modest option for men, while rash guards protect both men and women from chafing and harmful UV rays. These functional pieces of swimwear ensure you can ride the waves without sacrificing style or sun protection.

In Conclusion

Selecting the right swimwear is a personal journey that involves finding the perfect balance between comfort, style, and functionality. Whether you're lounging by the pool, riding the waves, or enjoying an active day at the beach, there's a swimsuit designed to meet your needs. It's an essential clothing item for any vacation. Embrace your individuality, consider your activities, and dive into the world of swimwear with confidence and style. After all, the best swimwear is the one that makes you feel fantastic while making a splash in every sense of the word.

Lands End Clothing Swimwear Review

The weather in the UK has been what they technically call 'Scorchio' over the last few weeks so we headed down to my mum's caravan near Tenby Pembrokeshire for a short break.  So when Land's End the clothing company got in touch for me to review their clothes I thought this was the perfect opportunity to get some new beachwear. This is a review in conjunction with Lands' End, but all opinions are my own.

Who Are Land's End?

Lands' End Clothing, was founded in 1963 in the US.  The company initially focused on selling sailing equipment, but it quickly expanded its product line to include a wide range of high-quality clothing for men, women, and children.

Clothing Review

The items I chose to review included a beach dress cover all and a swim dress. Check out these beach cover ups here. I am a size 14/16 and 5ft 2in. Recently I have lost some weight and I am a little self-conscious about my body.

The beach dress is an easy-to-wear dress that you can throw on over your swimming costume. It is made of breathable soft jersey cotton and has two useful pockets and vents on the side. It is machine washable but they recommend a cool hand wash. This helps to keep the colour and avoid any natural shrinkage in the fabric.

The dress has pretty white embroidery on the front that adds a feminine touch

This dress is also a great option to pack for a holiday somewhere hot when you want something comfortable to wear. You could wear it around town with some flip-flops or even out to a beach restaurant when you haven't got time to change.

I really liked this beach dress and thought the price was very good at £21.

swimdress

The other item I was sent to review was the woman's sweetheart swim dress.

I really loved this super cute swim dress. It has an all-over bright flower print with a soft cup bra and a swimsuit base. It has a gathering at the side and a cheeky little split so you can show a bit of leg. It covers all the parts you may be conscious of and I felt it held in my tummy well without being too tight.

If you are big busted like me it provides reasonable support and the straps are adjustable. It is made of a mix of nylon, polyester, elastane and Lycra® Xtra Life™ which resists breakdown from chlorine, sunscreen and heat. It moves with your body and is suitably stretchy for when you've had an extra portion in the hotel buffet!  This flattering swim dress is available from a size 8 to a size 20.

One of the great things about this lovely swimsuit is that it has a UPF of 50. UPF or Ultraviolet Protection Factor indicates how much UV radiation (both UVB and UVA) a fabric allows to reach your skin. For example, a UPF 50 fabric blocks 98 per cent of the sun’s rays and allows two per cent (1/50th) to penetrate, thus reducing your exposure risk significantly. This swim dress is available on sale for £66 at the moment.

Where Can You Order?

Lands' End Clothing operates both physical stores and an online platform. Their website, www.landsend.co.uk, provides a seamless shopping experience, featuring detailed product descriptions, helpful customer reviews, and easy navigation.

if you haven't checked out the Lands' End website, it's definitely worth a look. They have some really cool tankinis, bikinis and one-piece swimsuits too. You can also order a brochure if you like to browse a catalogue offline. They also sell a range of other clothes too, check out this Lands End review of their raincoats.

Let me know, what do you think of the items I have picked? Have you heard of Lands' End?

My Spring 2016 Swimsuit Wishlist

Very soon I will be jetting off on a trip to the United States to celebrate my 10th wedding anniversary. I've been working hard in the gym since November and have managed to tone up and lose some weight too, so I am in the market for a new swimming costume, in a smaller size.

Cutting back on wine and cake has been hard, I love my food, but with the exercise, I have managed to lose the weight without really dieting too much.

So here are some of the swimsuits that have caught my eye this season from House Of Fraser - now which to choose?

Dickens and Jones Boat Print Swimsuit £18 (was £45)

This boat print pattern is nautical and very cute. The halter neck is great for ladies with a big bust, lifting everything up and the mid-leg cut means you don't have to worry about showing too much. A super price in the sale too.

Seafolly Goddess Boyleg Swimsuit £90

This retro-looking halterneck swimsuit by Seafolly is in classic black with a sweetheart neckline. A flattering fit, with full coverage on the bottom and the halterneck means your bust is lifted up. Great for those that like to do some serious swimming but still look great.

Michael Kors gold embellished swimsuit £99 (was £199)

I love this swimsuit with a bandeau neckline, by Michael Kors, perfect for getting those sun rays on your shoulders.  A very glamorous design I can imagine wearing this lying on the beach sitting sipping cocktails in Miami.

Speedo Sculpture Crystalshine Swimsuit £28 (was £56)

This Speedo swimsuit has a simple black band accentuating your waist for a flattering. I like the gathering at the bust and the straps look secure to stay in place when swimming. A stylish high-performance swimsuit.

Dickins & Jones Floral Halter Cup Sized Swimsuit £16 (was £50)

This full cup swimsuit has ruching on the waist and is in an all-over pretty blue floral print. Feminine, yet bold, the design makes the most of an hourglass figure. The use of underwiring supports and makes the most of your bust too.

So this is my list of swimsuits from House Of Fraser this Spring. Which design is your favourite?

Swimwear Then And Now

As fashion has changed through the years, so has swimwear styles. From the high waisted bikinis of the '40s and 50's film stars to the high legged swimsuits worn in the '80s by Pamela Anderson on the Baywatch beach to the sports style bikinis of athletes today, made for performance as well as style.

Swimsuits years ago were modestly cut and covered much of the female form. Then they got smaller and smaller to the barely-there bikini and cut out swimsuit. Today the 50's styles have come back around in fashion, popularised by stars such as Dita Von Teese. Retro is cool again.

Yet fashion today is not defined by the era as it was years ago. There aren't rules any more, and I would say wear what suits your sense of style, and your body shape. To some, comfort is of the utmost importance and this is where sports style bikinis and classic swimsuits would suit, whilst to others wearing as little as possible to get that all-over tan is important, so the barely-there swimsuit or a fringed or teeny weeny bikini would be their choice. If you are worried about your tummy then a high waisted bikini or corset-style swimsuit will hold you in and be supportive.

So wear what swimwear you like, there is a lot of choice today, and have fun by the pool or on the beach!

What style of swimsuit do you wear?
