Recently I have been amazed by the efforts Davina McCall has gone through to raise money for Sport Relief. I've watched her on television in various states of tiredness and distress yet with a steely determination. She is truly an inspiration. All to raise money for this worthy cause.

This March Sport Relief 2014 will be bringing the nation together to get the country active, raise money and transform lives. Since it's launch in 2002 over 195 million pounds has been raised - how amazing is that?! More is still needed however to help change the lives of some of the poorest people in the UK and the rest of the world.

In the UK, it could help protect those living with the threat of abuse and also help young people living on the streets to get shelter. In underdeveloped countries the money raised provides communities with life saving vaccines and fresh water and helps build and provides supplies for schools. Even donating a small amount can really help those worse off than you, and SSE have come up with some ways in which you can donate through your actions.

As an official partner SSE (Southern Electric, Scottish Hydro, SWALEC and Atlantic) is proud to support Sport Relief.

If you are a SSE customer, and sign up for Direct debit or paperless bills, they will make a donation of £2 to Sport Relief, how great is that!

Even if you are not a customer you can still raise money by some simple steps.

For example, take SSE’s quick energy efficiency survey to find out how you can reduce your bills...raising a further £2 for Sport Relief. Also while you are there, why don't you register for SSE Reward, raising another £2 for Sport Relief. This will not only give you access to exclusive benefits and rewards, but you’ll also have the opportunity to win tickets to some of the best UK sport and entertainment events.

You have until Monday 24th March 2014 to support Sport Relief with SSE. To find out how you can get involved check out the SSE’s Sport Relief page.

What do you think of Davina McCall's efforts? Will you be raising money for Sport Relief? Let me know.
